ABOUT

Dr. Neil R. Euliano started the Clinical Research Division of NeuroDimension Incorporated (ND) in 1998. In 2004, Dr. Euliano purchased the rights to ND’s Research Division, its IP and contracts and created Convergent Engineering (CE).

Convergent Engineering focuses on the application of advanced technology, signal processing, and machine intelligence to biomedical applications. CE has strong ties with the Colleges of Engineering and Medicine at the University of Florida.

Convergent Engineering has developed and commercialized several products since its formation. CE developed VentAssist™, an FDA-cleared decision support system for monitoring ventilated patients and optimizing ventilator settings. VentAssist has been licensed to Philips Healthcare and is currently commercialized in the NM3™ respiratory monitor.

Convergent Engineering has also spun-off two companies based on its technology. eTect (now etectRX) was spun-off in 2009 to commercialize CE's electronic pill technology. In 2012 OBMedical was spun-off to commercialize CE’s abdominal electrode-based fetal monitoring system. OBMedical has successfully obtained FDA clearance and has been acquired by Philips Healthcare.
